Tasavvufun soyut kavramları ve terimleri sanatçılara, özellikle ruhsal / psikolojik durumların anlatılmasında çok büyük imkânlar sağlamaktadır. Klasik gerçekçi edebiyatın dışladığı bu ruhi boyut, Postmodernizmin etkisiyle edebi eserlerin anlatı evrenine dâhil olmuştur. Aklın sınırlarını zorlayan hayal dünyası ile tasavvuf ironi, parodi ve pastişle romanlarda yerini almıştır. İhsan Oktay Anar bu hazineyi keşfedip romanlarında çok farklı şekillerde kullanır. Suskunlar romanı tasavvuf düsturlarının ve Mevlevî dergâhının işlendiği bir romandır. Romanda Hıristiyanlık ve Yahudilik unsurlarından ve onların kutsal kitaplarından esinlenmeler olsa da Türk okuru için tasavvuf, Mevlevilik, ney, sema ve hayret hâlleri daha tanıdık gelir. Çünkü kuruluşu bu çağdan yüzlerce yıl öncesine dayanmasına karşın tasavvuf, roman özelinde Mevlevilik, günümüzde varlığını devam ettirmektedir. Suskunlar romanı tasavvufun kavramlarından olan marifetin tezahürü olarak hayret hâlini ele alıp işler. Romanın asıl kahramanı isminden de anlaşılacağı üzere önce marifeti yaşayan, marifetten hayret makamına yükselip suskunluğa ermiş olan, Eflatun’un temsil ettiği “Suskunlar”dır. Although the novel is inspired by elements of Christianity and Judaism and their holy books, Sufism, Mevlevism, ney, whirling dervishes and states of wonder are more familiar to Turkish readers. This is because although its foundation dates back hundreds of years before this era, Sufism, and in the novel in particular Mevlevism, continues to exist today. The novel Suskunlar deals with the state of astonishment as the manifestation of marvel, one of the concepts of Sufism. The main protagonist of the novel, as the title suggests, is the “Suskunlar” represented by Plato, who first experiences marifet, rises from marifet to the state of astonishment and reaches silence. In this article will try to show how wonder is described as the mode of silence in the novel.
