Cinema is related to many artistic disciplines through its literary, visual, and auditory aspects. Cinema generally employs postmodern structure, and postmodern narrative, in turn, uses intertextuality and intersemioticity methods and techniques as a reading method. Cinema, which produces works influenced by all art forms, also engages in an exchange with literary works. This exchange paves the way for the establishment of a proximity through common features between various figures with similar effect in these areas. For example, Kemal Sunal, a master of cinema and television comedy films, continued to make people of all ages laugh and enjoy themselves both during his lifetime and today. Just like Nasreddin Hodja, who has transcended centuries and geographies. This article evaluates the similarity between the comedic scene in the film “Tokatçı” starring Kemal Sunal and Nasreddin Hodja’s anecdote “Buğunun Parası” using an intertextuality / intersemioticity approach. The aim is to reveal the effect of the same humorous element being repeated in two different art forms. In this respect, it makes point-blank references specific to the polyphony of a work.
