Kutadgu Bilig is one of the most important works of Qarakhanid Turkic was written by Yusuf Has Hacib. Kutadgu Bilig contains a wealth of linguistic material that reflects the characteristics of Qarakhanid Turkic. This study focuses on the first-person singular and plural imperatives found in the Kutadgu Bilig. In this study, couplets containing first-person singular and first-person plural imperatives in the Kutadgu Bilig were first listed, and then these were analyzed according to their imperative and optative functions. The Egypt manuscript of the Kutadgu Bilig was used as the source material for this study. According to the findings, the first-person singular imperatives are used more frequently than the first-person plural imperatives in the work, and these imperatives are primarily used in an imperative function. The aim of this study is to contribute to existing research on the use and function of imperatives in the Kutadgu Bilig and Qarakhanid Turkic.
