In this study, the analysis of the ghazal with “duymasın” repeated voice in the divan of Yenişehirli Avnî, one of the important poets of the 19th century in Classical Turkish Literature, has been subject within the framework of psychoanalytic literary theory. In the study, which was carried out independently of traditional commentary methods, the aforementioned ghazal was examined by considering two different perspectives within the framework of “viewing the work from the artist within the framework of psychoanalytic literary theory” and “viewing the artist from the work within the framework of psychoanalytic literary theory.” As a result of the examination, the reflections of the elements known to us about the life of the poet in Avnî’s ghazal with the “duymasın” repeated voice and the elements we have determined about the poet based on the ghazal in question have been revealed. In this context, the “reflections of the poet’s stuttering in the ghazal”, “reflections of the poet’s bodily weakness in the ghazal”, “reflections of the desire to escape from oneself/numbness in the ghazal”, “reflections of contradictions and paradoxes in the ghazal” and “reflections of the fear of death in the ghazal” were determined and examined under the aforementioned titles by exemplifying. As a result, it is thought that this study will contribute to the field of Old Turkish Literature in terms of determining and evaluating the reflection of the elements of divan literature poets' lives on their poems within the framework of psychoanalytic literature theory and the method followed in this study.
