Abstract The aim of this study is to examine the 2018 Secondary Education Turkish Language and Literature course (9-12 grades) curriculum in terms of explanations and achievements related to critical reading. For this purpose, answer to the following questions have sought: a) 2018 Turkish Language and Literature in Secondary Education (9-12 grades) are there any explanations of critical readings in the curriculum? b) Which acquirements regarding critical reading are included in the 2018 Secondary Education Turkish Language and Literature course (9-12 grades) curriculum and how is the distribution of these acquirements? In this study, in which the qualitative research method was used, the data were collected through document analysis. In the evaluation of data collected within the scope of the research, the descriptive analysis method was used from qualitative data analysis methods. From the data of the research, the following results have been achieved: 2018 Turkish Language and Literature of Secondary Education (9-12 grade) the five topics of the curriculum include explanations intended to guide students to critical reading. However, it can be said that these explanations are important and positive, but not sufficient in terms of providing secondary school students with critical reading skills
