This study examines the online circulation of the Turkish idiom kırmızı kar yağdığı zaman/yağınca through a cultural heritage data science lens. It turns dispersed digital traces into a reusable micro-corpus dataset. Fifty-one instances collected from publicly accessible webpages via web scraping were coded by platform type, discourse genre, topic domain, idiom variant, and pragmatic function, and documented through a dataset schema, data dictionary, and codebook. Using OpenRefine, fields were standardised, and variants were normalised in a controlled manner, while context summaries and uncertainty notes were retained. The findings show that the idiom most often indexes postponement and indefinite waiting on complaint platforms, foregrounds judgements of impossibility alongside irony and critique in forum environments, and more frequently carries wishes and “miracle” reversal narratives on social media. The study demonstrates how meaning is reconfigured across platform ecologies in memetic circulation, and proposes an auditable micro-corpus modelling workflow for Turkish idioms.
