The article presents the manuscript Gramática Turca o Methodo Breve y Fácil Para Aprender la Lengua Turca (1799) kept in the Biblioteca Nacional de España under Mss/2809 and makes the data in the text visible. The author is Juan Antonio Romero. Using the section “Reason for This Work” it briefly states why it was written and then follows the seven main sections. It starts with spelling and pronunciation, moves to nouns and pronouns, verbs and other word classes and then considers sentence structure and syntax. It reviews thematic bilingual vocabulary together with speech formulas and dialogues, especially “Most Necessary Speech Formulas” and “Dialogues.” The ending chapters treat the cabalistic values of letters and the function of vowel marks.
