OSMANLICA TÜRKÇESİ DERSİNE YÖNELİK KAYGI ÖLÇEĞİ: GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİRLİK ÇALIŞMASI

Özet

This study aimed to develop a scale to measure anxiety levels related to the Ottoman Turkish course, a compulsory undergraduate subject taught for at least one semester, and to examine its psychometric properties. A survey model, one of the quantitative research approaches, was adopted. Data were collected in two stages: first for exploratory factor analysis (n=270) and then for confirmatory factor analysis (n=217). During data analysis, descriptive statistics, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, reliability analysis, item-total correlation, and two-step cluster analysis for standard setting were conducted. The exploratory factor analysis showed that the scale had a single-factor structure consisting of 25 items, and this structure was confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis. The findings indicated that the developed scale is a valid and reliable tool for measuring undergraduate students’ anxiety levels during and after the Ottoman Turkish course and can be used to identify their anxiety levels related to this course.
