TOPLUMSAL CİNSİYET KODLARI BAĞLAMINDA KEMAL TAHİR ANLATILARI

Özet

Gender inequality refers to the feminine or masculine cultural codes assigned by society based on an individual's biological sex. This inequality, which varies according to cultural texture but is a common problem for all women around the world, needs sustainable solutions. In this study, gender stereotypes that have become visible in Kemal Tahir's narratives were examined. Kemal Tahir's views on gender inequality take their starting point from a Marxist perspective. Therefore, his thoughts focus not on the construction of hegemonic masculinity and the patriarchal system in the sociological structure, but on class struggle and the position of women in the network of economic relations. However, Kemal Tahir's narratives have a wide range in terms of feminine roles and gender stereotypes imposed on women by society. Women's right to education and work, the marginalized female identity and the types of violence to which the female body is exposed, how gender judgments are reflected in language, and the masculine imagination that makes the patriarchal system sustainable by constantly reproducing these judgments, constitute the main perspective of this study.
