Abstract


EXPRESSIONS ON USING ROSARY IN TURKISH: EXAMPLE OF KARS DIALECTS

Rosary appears as a religious and social tool in our daily lives. At first, the rosary, which we used to remember Allah, have recently turned into a social accessory form and have taken their place in Turkish culture. It is known that the rosary undertakes tasks such as bringing good luck in hunting, gaining strength in war, healing in diseases, protection in factors such as the evil eye, charm, we understand that it was used in many other civilizations like Byzantine, Roman, Urartu, etc. It is possible to come across the rosary in our language and literature whose traces we see in our social life. There are two basic expressions regarding the use of rosary in Turkey Turkish, namely "tespih çek-" and "tespih salla-". However, in Turkey Turkish, rosary is a word that has created its own conceptual field from its construction to its use. In the face of the rich vocabulary of Turkey Turkish, these two basic expressions appear in different forms in Kars. In addition to the this expressions, we compiled from different people at different times over a period of about ten years in Kars. In addition to the interpretation experiments, we will also try to show the phonetic and morphological differences based on the pronunciation features in the compiled expressions.
