Abstract
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE DICTIONARY OF COMPILATION FROM THE KÜTAHYA CENTER-I
Many materials have been compiled in scientific studies and researches on Turkey Turkish dialects. However, in these studies, the phonetic and morphological characteristics of the region or precincts were emphasized rather than vocabulary. And sometimes text dictionaries formed which include words caused to phonetic changes. These dictionaries are far from reflecting the whole vocabulary of the dialect region. There are words and proverbs that have not yet entered the Compilation Dictionary and scientific studies. Identifying and recording these will contribute not only to dialect science, but also to determining the stages of change and development of the Turkish language.
In this study, the central dialect vocabulary of Kütahya has been emphasized. The study was limited due to the large number of words compiled, only verbs were considered. The verbs in the study are the words that are noted during the conversation of my family members and friends at various times and places and are also known by most of us. While determining the verbs used in the central dialect of Kütahya, our aim is to contribute to the studies of dialect research, creating dialect atlas and dialect vocabulary. The study was carried out in four stages: scanning, compilation, listing according to certain criteria, and definition. In the first part of the study, which consists of three parts, six verbs that do not take place in the Compilation Dictionary although they live in the central dialect of Kütahya; In the second part, six verbs which take place in the Compilation Dictionary but used in a different sense in Kütahya central dialect; In the third part, fifty verbs in the Compilation Dictionary but not compiled from the central dialect of Kütahya were examined and given with their equivalents.
