Abstract
SYNONYM SITUATION ADJECTIVES IN TERMS OF SEMANTIC FIELD AND SEMANTIC PROSODY: “MUHTEMEL” AND “OLASI” EXAMPLE
The concept of synonymy and whether synonymy is possible or not are have been discussing for a long time. Researchers have made different synonymy definitions as a result of different approaches, and almost every new study on the subject has brought a new synonym approach. Accordingly, have developed a classification of synonymy in order to determine similarity levels of words that different approaches indicate synonyms. This study aims to present a holistic synonymy approach by using Cruse and Murphy's classification methods with semic analysis, semantic field analysis and semantic prosody analysis on langue and parole plane.
Study based on the situation adjectives assumed to be synonymous. In this respect, "muhtemel" and "olası" adjectives are analyzed. In the prologue, introduction information about meaning and semantics has given. In the first chapter, information about key subjects and concepts has given. In the second chapter, the synonymy evaluation method indicated and “muhtemel” ve “olası” adjectives has studied in direction of the method. In the last chapter; evaluations and conclusion presented along with findings obtained.
