Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF PERCEPTION SCALE FOR TURKISH LESSON ACTIVITIES: VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY
This study goals to develop a valid and reliable perception scale consisting of Likert type items so as to measure the perceptions of Turkish Language teachers towards Turkish lesson activities. By applying the scale draft consisting of 33 items to the group consisting of 200 Turkish Language teachers, Validity and reliability studies were carried out. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin value of the scale and the 921 Barlett’s sphericity test value were found to be significant (p <5) at the 5% significance level. Factor analysis was carried out after the appropriateness for the scale’s factor analysis was determined with these values. According to the result of the factor and reliability analysis a Likert type scale consisting of 33 items was developed by subtracting the items which are low factor value and creating overlapping. Scope validity of the scale was ensured by expert opinion. For construct validity of the scale exploratory factor analysis for the data obtained from 351 Turkish Language teachers and confirmatory factor analysis for the data obtained from 234 Turkish Language teachers were carried out. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was 972. With these results it can be said that the scale is valid and reliable and maesures the perception that you would like to measure.
