The Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Macedonia which continue their existence as two individual governments (as other Balkan states) were under the sway of Ottoman / Turkish domination for centuries; the unique linguistic, cultural, artistic and architectural artifacts reflecting the Turkish lifestyle and belief were constructed in these regions. Many researches related to Ottoman / Turkish artifacts in Kosovo and Macedonia was conducted by this time and the results of these researches were published as declarations, articles, books or albums. The many of the works and publications conducted consists of the popular publications which are for country advertising. The gravestones have special place and importance in the Ottoman / Turkish cultural and civilization artifacts in Kosovo and Macedonia. Unfortunately required importance hasn’t been given (or couldn’t have given) to gravestones which are almost the title of the place in which they exist (as it occurs in our country and other countries in the World). This study presents information about the current status of gravestones of Ottoman / Turkish period in Kosovo and Macedonia.
