“LEZÎZ” REDİFLİ GAZELLERDE SEVGİLİNİN DUDAĞININ TATLI YİYECEKLERLE İLİŞKİSİ

Özet

There are numerous couplets, which about the beloved’s beautyness, especially lips, in classical Turkish poetry. The beloved’s lips are mentioned about its beauty, sweetness, reviving the lovers etc. in these poems. Relationship between “lezîz” identity rhymes (redif) ghazels in divans, whose 37 poets are living in XV-XIXth centuries, and Ottoman cuisine’s desserts, key items of desserts such as sugar, honey etc. is analyzing in this study. In these couplets, the beloved’s lips are compared with desserts and syrups; and poets think that beloved’s lips are more delicious than those foods. Also, the beloved’s tongue, kisses, mouth and spoken words to the lover, are mentioned with lips. These parts of the beloved’s are compared with desserts; and poets think that they are more delicious than sweeties. There are similarities or supremacies, between the beloved’s lips and a great variety of desserts in these poems. So, it is conceivable that culinary culture has affected to literature and these poems are example of that.
