The Battle of Kutü'l Amare between the Turkish and British armies in Kutü'l Amare, near Baghdad, is one of the major battles that destroyed the invincible Western image from the point of view of the history of colonialism. The triumphs of Çanakkale, Kutü'l Amare and the Turkish War of independence have opened the door to many national wars of liberation in the world by shaking the belief in the minds of the world's peoples that the West is invincible. A book of poems written by Mehmet Emin Yurdakul, titled Dicle Önünde (In Front of the Tigris) was also written about the victory of Kutü'l Amare. In this work, which is less well known than the other works of the poet, after Iraq is depicted with a broad mythological and historical background, thoughts on the importance of war and the meaning of victory are put forward. One of the important aspects of this work is the differences between the prints and the changes seen on the text submitted by the poet to the Society of Turkish History.In addition to being a poetic text, the work is also worth reading with important references to world history and political structure. In this study, it will be tried to reveal the ways in which the poet values the victory gained and the ways in which he sees the issues he has acquired.
