“OKYANUS ANSİKLOPEDİK SÖZLÜK”ÜN SÖZLÜKBİLİMİN VERİLERİ IŞIĞINDA İNCELENMESİ

Özet

This study consists of two parts. In the first part of the research, information about lexicography which is a sub-branch of lexicography is given. In the second part of the study, “Oceanic Encyclopedic Dictionary” was evaluated in the light of lexicography. One of the important milestones in the lexicography studies, which started with “Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk” and it was tried to reveal the place of the Oceanic Encyclopedic Dictionary in history of lexicography, which had a great impact in 1971 when it was published. The subject of the study is examined in terms of both form and content under different headings such as general characteristics, importance, type, typesetting, source quality, target groups, usage tags, entries and item contents based on the dictionary analysis principles discussed in different researches. As a result of the study, it was found that the Ocean Encyclopedic Dictionary contains visual errors such as spelling and numbering due to printing. On the other hand, it was concluded that the work was prepared in accordance with the principles of lexicography.
