YABANCI DİL OLARAK TÜRKÇE ÖĞRETİMİNDE TARİHÎ BİR ESER: REDHOUSE’UN MUHTASAR OSMANLI TÜRKÇESİ DİL BİLGİSİ ADLI ESERİ
Özet
As a result of the political, economic and military relations of the Ottoman Empire with the British, many works on teaching Turkish to the British were published. Sir James William Redhouse is one of the authors of these works. The aim of this study is to examine Redhouse's A Simplified Grammar of the Ottoman Turkish Language in terms of teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
In the qualitative research, document analysis method was used. Content analysis technique was used for data analysis. According to the data obtained, traces of grammar translation method can be seen in the work. In addition, Redhouse has included many sample words in his work. In addition, it is remarkable that Redhouse includes the pronunciation of exemplary Turkish words and sentences.
