YABANCI DİL SINIFLARINDA TÜMLEÇ YAN CÜMLELERİNİN ÖĞRETİMİ: EŞDİZİMLİLİK VE SEMANTİK EĞİLİMLER TEMELLİ BİR YAKLAŞIM

Özet

This study deals with sentences such as “Konuşmaya başladı. Aramaktan çekiniyorum. Gitmesinde ısrar etmeliyiz. Geldiğini biliyorum. Gideceğini söyledi.”, and aims to display the collocational relations between the verbs in complement clause and main clause from a corpus-based perspective. It also attempts to reveal the semantic tendencies, which govern the collocations, and propose a teaching framework for foreign learners of Turkish. The main contrast in Turkish complement clauses in terms of the selection of main verb is observed between -mA and -DIK clauses. For this reason, this study is restricted to -mA and -DIK suffixes. A collocational list of -mayı+verb and -duğunu+verb is extracted from Turkish National Corpus. The collocations in the list are eliminated examining the context of each one manually in order to determine the true verb collocations of the above-mentioned suffixes. The verbs obtained from the elimination task are semantically classified, and a teaching framework is suggested on the base of these findings.
