In this study, the beliefs and practices in relation with the weddings, which occupy an important place in the transition periods of Bartin province located in the western part of the Black Sea Region, were compiled from the source persons and evaluated. Weddings, which occupy an important place in our culture, and the traditional practices in those weddings reached the present day with some changes. In our study, the traditional practices before, during and after the weddings were presented in line with the narrations of the source persons. This study, which is conducted by taking the information compiled from the Bartin region to forefront, is necessary and important since it records the wedding folklore of the region that has a strong and solid potential. At the same time, it is determined that a number of beliefs and practices in relation with the weddings are still maintained now, even though they are not alive as they used to be.
