Zavallı Necdet, the most well-known work of Safvet Nezihi, is a romance with romantic elements. In this romance, symbolic power of colors is often utilized. While the preferred colors evoke various emotions in the reader, they also provide clues about the fiction of the novel. It is well known that colors are symbolically determinative of human emotions and movements. In various cultures, colors that are perceived to be logically similar, are also influential on the shape and severity of behavior as well as human psychology, even when they come to different meanings. In this study, the colors identified with various objects and concepts will be determined according to the novelists and the depths that the novel provides to the intrigue structure will be evaluated with its symbolic features.
