OSMANİYELİ İSPİR ONBAŞI VE KARACAOĞLAN HİKÂYESİ

Özet

Various narrations with regard to Karacaoğlan's life, who lived in the 16th century and has had an important role in ashik tradition, have been identified up to now. One of these narrations belongs to İspir Mehmet Koç nicknamed “İspir Onbaşı” who lived in Düziçi district of Osmaniye province and died on the 25th July, 2014 at the age of 91. There are 22 folk songs consisting of prose and poems in Karacaoğlan story narrated by İspir Onbaşı. In our study, the information concerning the classification of the story we compiled from İspir Onbaşı to whom we met in Düziçi, Osmaniye on the 5th March, 2005, was firstly provided and then the story was examined with regard to its patterns. İspir Onbaşı's narration called Karacaoğlan Story is categorized as "folk story song". The story involves some motifs in traditional folk stories. However, it does not completely conform to traditional story pattern in terms of episodes.
