Özet

In this study, the metacognitive awareness level s of reading strategies were investigated on students of Inonu University. For this purpose, answers of fallowing questions were determined. What is the level of metacognitive awareness of reading strategies of students? Are there vary significantly according to the faculties in the level of metacognitive awareness of reading strategies of students? Are there vary significantly according to the gender in the level of metacognitive awareness of reading strategies of students? In this study, qualitative research, data collection tools is “Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategies Inventory" created by Mokhtari ve Reichard (2002). In addition, the reliability and validity of this inventory was made by Öztürk (2012). As a result of, students of İnönü University were observed at "Promote to Reading Strategies” level and the "Public Reading Strategy" as the middle level and "Problem Solving Strategy" as the high level. Metacognitive awareness levels of female students were significantly found higher than male students..
