Özet

Today, the lands within the boundaries of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the People’s Republic of China have been the scene for settlement of different Turkish tribes and communities. For this reason, there are many rock engravings (petroglyphs), obelisks and marked stones, inscriptions, tombs, monumental tomb complexes, statues and architectural buildings from different eras, including (Kok)Turk Khanate and Otuken Uighur Khanate periods, in the referred geography. In this paper, Yorçı inscription with (Kok)Turk alphabet from (Kok)Turk Khanate period discovered in 1998 in Çagan Obuga (查干敖包) Village Holbugatu Hosigu district of Darhan Moominggan(达尔罕茂明安联合旗) settlement area connected to the City of Baotou (包头市) in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is addressed and investigated in all aspects. Yorçı inscription is of great importance because it is the first inscription written with (Kok)Turk alphabet discovered in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
