Özet
As it is known, each nation has a culture of self, which stems from the need to be completely caused by itself and cultural characteristics of other nations. The main consciousness is to quote the cultural issues to the next generations. In recent years importance is given to values in education through the courses by means of the texts applied in schools. Tales can be used for the transmission of values in literary texts has an important place in the stories.
Tales are usually created by people based on dreams, including the stories of witches, giants and fairies with extraordinary events. They are mostly used to entertain people as well as educating the community. The most important reasons of considering the tales as educational tools is the contribution good behaviours in human consciousness. It is underiable that tales help the children to learn patience, honesty, justice, equalıty and commitment. They are filtered down from hundreds of years of experince.
Tales should not be considered as a activity for free times. They should be considered as an educational tool on the emphasis of cultural identity. For this reason, it can be considered that tales support the language skills and learning precess of national values in literature lessons.
